At the recent Event Forum Europe+Asia in St. Petersburg, the management of Expocentr Krasnaya Presnya in Moscow announced that an additional venue will be built outside of the city adjacent to the Vnukovo airport. A land plot of 104 hectares has been transferred from the authorities of the Moscow region to be part of the new Moscow city development. The blessing of the Russian federal government was given, yet the detailed approval procedures are currently running.

The new venue will be built in two phases, the first phase comprising around 120.000 sqm of covered hall space to be operational by late 2014 or at the beginning of 2015. The investment into the new project is estimated by industry sources to sum up to not less than €1 bn. ITE’s Turkish subsidiary, EUF, announces the acquisition of 60% of YEM Fuarcilik (YEMF), organisers of Turkeybuild events in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. The remaining 40% of the business will continue to be held by Yapi–Endüstri Merkezi a.s (‘Yapi’), the leading provider of data and information services to the building materials and construction industries in Turkey.

The principal Turkeybuild event, held in Istanbul, celebrated its 34th edition in April/May 2011 and covered more than 35,000m² net. It also attracted an attendance of over 110,000. The Ankara and Izmir Turkeybuild events are held annually in September and October respectively.

The General Meeting of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF) was held in Samara June 24 to 26, 2011. It was hosted by "Expo-Volga" Ltd. Matters concerning the association’s internal operations were analysed during the meeting, including the issues of membership and exhibition events certification followed by award of the RUEF logo. Matters concerning the present state of Russia’s exhibition industry, outcomes of 2010 and development prospects in 2011 were also raised.

The General Meeting began with an opening address from RUEF President Sergey Alexeev, who announced the basic results of activities in the first half of 2011. Within the reporting period the association focused on interaction with government authorities, RF CCI, and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, including joint participation in the events by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, RF CCI, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and RUEF.

KITEL 2011, the 18th Central Asian International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition, will take place on 25-27 May in pavilion 10 of the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty.

The show is organised by Iteca and officially supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information of Kazakhstan, Kazakhtelecom and NWF Samruk-Kazyna. The sponsors of registration at KITEL 2011 are Digital TV Family Channel One and the Carousel channel (Russia).

KIHE 2011 will take place in Almaty on 11-13 May.  In terms of the number and range of exhibitors, it is the largest and most representative healthcare exhibition in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.  The exhibition will be located in pavilion 11 of the Atakent Exhibition Centre.

In September 2010 President of the Republic of Kazakhstan met BIE Secretary General Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales and declared that Kazakhstan intends to host in 2017 in Astana the world's most global exposition - International Specialised Exposition EXPO. At the present time Kazakhstan is on its way to get officially approved it's bidding.

The history of EXPO expositions date back to 1851. This exposition is organised every five years and works for six months. Specialised International Expositions EXPO are organised between two World Expositions, it is obligatory to have topic endorsed by BIE (Bureau for International Expositions) and it lasts for three months.
